Topical Treatment Darts
These darts are designed for use in situations where a topical treatment needs to be applied to an animal.
Topical Treatment Darts have an internal drug containment chamber like all RDD Darts but have a solid head with no needle, instead there are Four (4) 5/32" liquid media ejection ports around the end of the dart just behind the head.
These liquid media ejection ports are sealed with a unique liquid media membrane seal that allows the drug/liquid media to be easily loaded with a syringe and upon impact with the animal the drug/media is ejected out of the ports through the seal and onto the surface of the animal.
(we do not supply topical liquid media/drugs used in these darts, the darts come empty ready for you to load your own media into).
Topical Treatment Darts are available in either 3.0cc or 5.0cc capacities and in Type P, Type C and Type U configurations.
How to load Topical Treatment Darts:
- Using a syringe needle, insert needle into one of the 5/32" ejection port holes through the gap in the liquid membrane seal.
- The liquid membrane seal is tapered towards the rear, so you will easily be able to insert your syringe behind this.
- With the drug/media filled syringe now directed/pointed toward the tail of the dart, inject the topical liquid media/drug into the drug containment chamber of the dart.
- Remove the fill needle and now the dart is ready to be loaded into the dart gun and delivered.
